Transforming working practices at global textile manufacturer
A North American manufacturer of a world-renowned textile material, turned to MasterMover Inc to provide an effective solution to ensure the safe movement of fabric rolls across their Maryland site.
Previously, two operators manually pushed and pulled the loads – weighing up to 863 kg – on calendar roll carts, but the introduction of a SM100+ is now transforming working practices at the facility.
As well as reducing the risk of musculoskeletal disorders, the new SM100+ has reduced the labour needed to move the goods, with just one person now able to control the manoeuvre.
Hugh Freer, President of MasterMover Inc, said: “The SmartMover has been well-received at the business.
“It was selected to reduce the strain on the team as part of the company’s approach to continuously look for new and innovative working methods.
“The SmartMover removes the risks associated with manually handling the carts.
“It also allows the load to be moved using only one operator, ultimately saving time and resources and achieving greater efficiencies.”
