Moving east to South Korea

Electric tug specialist MasterMover will be exhibiting at DAMEX 2016, the seventeenth Daegu International Machinery Industry expo, which will take place from November 23 to 26 in Daegu City, South Korea. The company will be exhibiting its MasterTug 400+ and 1200+ electric power tugs.

DAMEX will feature 190 companies in 550 booths, who will be exhibiting a range of industrial machinery, such as air compressors, cleaning machines and laser marking systems. In 2015, exhibitors came from 14 countries and the 17,852 visitors came from 40 countries, demonstrating the international complexion of the event.

MasterMover, in partnership with its distributor Daeshin, will be exhibiting two products from its electric power tug range. Both products allow a single pedestrian operator to push, pull and steer wheeled loads, at a 180-degree angle. The MT400+ allows the user to move a weight of up to 4,000kg and the MT1200+ allows the user to move up to 12,000kg.

These products are used in a variety of applications, such as manufacturing, warehouse management and retail to move heavy roll pallets and trolleys. Dozens of household names already use MasterMover’s electric power tugs across the globe use to move heavy loads safely.

“MasterMover products are designed and manufactured in the UK in our IOS9001 facility,” explained managing director Andy Owen. “By manufacturing in the UK, we can guarantee the quality of our products, but we successfully sell them across the world.

“For instance, we’ve recently supplied a wireless remote control electric tug to a South Korean plant, where it moves large fuel cells,” continued Owen. “In addition, in the last few months, MasterMover products have been shipped to Singapore, Jordan, Venezuela, the United States, India and Poland. By exhibiting at a popular international trade show, we will reach more customers internationally.”

Many companies have found that by using electric tugs, they can eliminate the need for forklifts or manual handling, which in turn increases safety for workers and efficiency in the plant.

MasterMover products have a series of safety features, such as a self-adjusting castor guard to protect workers’ feet, an automatic brake, an emergency stop, a warning horn and anti-crush feature to minimise collisions and accidents. Not only is this a benefit to the workers themselves, but it also helps businesses avoid compensation claims, reduces employee fatigue and strain and comply with health and safety legislation.

Plant managers interested in MasterMover’s range of electric tugs can find the products on Daeshin’s stand from November 23 to 26 at the EXCO venue in Daegu City, South Korea.
