MasterMover Ltd Employees Cheer After Receiving £1500 Christmas Bonus
STAFF at an Ashbourne firm are celebrating after being handed their early Christmas present – in the shape of four-figure bonuses.
Last week bosses at MasterMover announced that Christmas was coming early for their employees, who manufacture and distribute electric machines from their base at the Airfield Industrial Estate.
The £1,500 bonus came about after the company, which sends its products around the world to a string of household-name businesses, saw its turnover rocket to more than £6 million.
Managing director Andy Owen gathered all the employees together on Friday to tell them the news.
Staff member Karl Russell said: “Andy gathered us all in the office last Friday which had us all guessing as to what the announcement may be. When he mentioned a Christmas bonus I think we all thought we may receive a turkey or something similar that you might expect from a company. When it was revealed it was actually going to be £1,500 I think we were all amazed. Everybody immediately started to applaud Andy.
“Most of us knew we have had a very good year but we still did not expect a bonus, let alone one of this size.
“We were all motivated before but this has really got everyone buzzing.”
