MasterMover International Announce Appointment Of New Managing Director
Market leading manufacturer of compact electric tugs, MasterMover, has announced the appointment of Andy Owen as Managing Director. Andy, who has been with the Ashbourne-based company for 6 years, has been promoted from the position of Sales Director, where he was responsible for successfully developing the customer base in both the UK and export markets.
Andy’s previous experience includes operational roles in production, logistics and materials management at JCB, as well as technical sales positions within MasterMover. This combination of commercial, customer and sales experience has shaped MasterMover’s business ethos; high quality, customer focused solutions backed up by lifetime product support.
Under Andy’s leadership, the aim for the business is to continue the rapid growth that it has enjoyed since it was founded in 1995 with just one product. Today MasterMover boasts a range of seven standard products with over 25 models in the range. Turnover has grown to over £3million and the business now exports a range of solutions to customers in China, Europe, Australia and America.
A key objective for the new Managing Director is to increase brand and product awareness in both international and UK sectors. MasterMover leads the market by providing solutions for moving wheeled loads in hospitals, airports, warehouses, factories and logistics firms etc. To achieve this Andy has restructured all elements of the business to focus on sector driven activity from design, product development and sales through to people, service and marketing. He invests in the business to ensure that every area operates to maximum efficiency, from providing the latest 3D Cad software for design, satellite technology for engineers to state of the art assembly lines for the product.
Andy comments “By understanding the specific needs of our customer groups, MasterMover has produced a range of products that challenge conventional methods of moving materials. Our tugs are not only designed for superior performance, but eliminate manual handling risks by complying with Health and Safety regulations. In many instances our customers have seen that they can use our products in place of larger handling machines, leaving them additional production or storage space.
They also see compensation claims reducing by providing safer working practices, so whether change is safety or cost driven, by using MasterMover there can be long term benefits to their business.”
He continues “I recognize that I cannot achieve this alone, so it is important that I have the right team here at MasterMover. By sharing my ambitious plans with the team and encouraging their ideas, there is a real sense of pride in working for this innovative British company and this is displayed through the quality of the product”.
