MasterMover, the Ashbourne-based manufacturer of electric tugs, is proud to announce the outstanding success of its charity football event held at Pride Park Stadium, home of Derby County FC, on Friday 8th May.
The evening brought together two local youth football clubs, Ashbourne Aztecs FC and Melbourne Dynamo FC, with players from the U7 to U12 age categories taking to the hallowed turf for an unforgettable evening of football, all in aid of Marie Curie, the UK's leading end-of-life charity.
Families, friends, and supporters packed the stands to cheer on the young players, creating a fantastic atmosphere in one of the region's most iconic sporting venues.
On the day, an incredible £5,534.66 was raised through donations and fundraising activities. In a show of commitment to the cause, MasterMover pledged to match the total with an additional £5,000 contribution, bringing the grand total raised for Marie Curie to an outstanding £10,534.66.
Matthew Nickson, Community Fundraiser at Marie Curie, said: "We are so grateful to MasterMover and everyone who came out to support this wonderful event. Donations like this enable us to make a real difference to people at the end of life -and their families - ensuring they receive the specialist care and support they need. It's heartwarming to see local businesses and communities coming together in such a fun and meaningful way. Over the last few years, MasterMover’s fundraising activities have made a huge impact to the people and communities we support.”
MasterMover has been a proud supporter of Marie Curie since 2024. The manufacturer’s fundraising efforts help the charity provide expert end of life care for people with any illness and support for their family and friends in the community, at its hospices and through its free national Support Line (0800 090 2309). The Pride Park event marks one of the company's most ambitious fundraising efforts to date.
MasterMover would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Ashbourne Aztecs FC, Melbourne Dynamo FC, all the young players and their families, as well as everyone who donated and attended on the night.
