We’re recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to take responsibility for the finances and administration of the business. You will have worked in either manufacturing or production with experience in group accounting and overseas subsidiaries. The role is a leadership position managing a small team, you will report to the operational partners and will want to aspire to become a Finance Director for the MasterMover group.

Job Role

Responsible for all daily finance and accounting activities. Providing cost control, analysis and transparency through management reporting. Generating insightful financial reports for the management team whilst ensuring debt is chased, staff and suppliers are paid, and the business keeps costs to a minimum.

Accountability

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Finance department.
  • Manage the Company’s transactions such as accounts payable, credit control, payroll, tax and general operational finance.
  • Report on financial accounting activities on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed and reported, including statutory reporting.
  • Being the key link with finance and the management team, communicating at all levels whilst understanding the entire business and its subsidiaries.
  • Understand and support the business on profitable business growth, highlighting opportunities and risks.
  • Assist management in creating budgets and forecasting for strategic plans.
  • Ensure all reports are clear and that each department understands how its contribution impacts on the overall business strategy and goals.
  • Report to the Directors with timely and accurate financial information, assist in presenting monthly reports to the business stakeholders including analysis, commentary and insight.
  • Lead and manage a small finance team and encourage other departments to actively work in partnership with them.
  • Attributes and Skills

    • Minimum of 10 years’ demonstrable experience in both finance and management.
    • Ideally having a relevant degree in maths, economics or business, as well as completing an accountancy qualification in either ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
    • Experience working in either manufacturing or production is essential.
    • Strong commercial awareness with proven experience of group accounting and overseas subsidiaries.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build strong relationships quickly and partner with commercial and operational stakeholders.
    • Leadership skills with proven people management skills, being able to motivate and lead.
    • Possess solid verbal and written communication, with ability to confidently present clear and concise data to financial and non-financial individuals.
