At MasterMover we have a Level 2 Engineering Operative apprenticeship available. The opportunity of studying whilst working alongside the wider engineering team will give you all the experience and skills you need to progress and enjoy a fulfilling career.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a global market leading British manufacturer. MasterMover is the world’s leading manufacturer of electric tugs. Our innovative handling solutions can move wheeled and semi-wheeled loads ranging in size from 50kg up to 360,000kg. Our electric tugs and tows are the product of choice for market leading organisations and worldwide brands in the aerospace, automotive and pharmaceutical industries, as well as in retail, health care and other sectors of the economy.

The Engineering Operative apprentice position will include enrolment onto an 18-month accredited apprenticeship scheme, with support from MasterMover and the Chesterfield College Group, and further development opportunities beyond that. Earning whilst you are learning, you will be working as part of dedicated teams, in a fast-growing business, departmentally rotating around Operations, Service and Technical Support.

This role is suited to someone who is looking to learn and build a career in engineering. You will learn what the role of an Engineering Operative is, and the value it brings to the business. The role is varied and exciting, and you will have the opportunity to master all there is to know about the complete engineering cycle!

Key activities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing support to build, assemble, maintain and repair hydraulic, electrical and battery powered machinery.
  • Maintaining accuracy and achieving deadlines using effective communication and by working to specifications.
  • Creating professional relationships with customers to achieve customer loyalty.
  • Adopting a continuous process improvement approach to further optimise quality control and eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Supporting with warehouse processes, including the kitting of components, stock management, packing and logistics, and more.
  • Assisting with technical product support, warranty recording, analysis and reporting.
  • Ensuring administrative tasks are completed accurately where required.
  • Keeping a safe, clean and healthy working environment.
  • Experiencing full training to gain exposure to all aspects of engineering processes.

 Is this you?

  • Eager and willing to learn new skills, with a hands-on approach and a passion for manufacturing/ engineering.
  • A hard-working individual with a positive can-do attitude towards their work.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well with others.
  • Strong time-keeping abilities while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills.
